I graduated in 2011 from Luther College in Decorah, IA with a BA in Elementary Education, Reading Endorsement (a double major at my school). Along with this major, I acquired a minor in English/Writing, taking classes for creative writing, reading/writing comprehension, poetry, and non-fiction writing. I graduated with a 3.0/3.1 GPA and was on the Dean's list for 2 of the 8 semesters I attended.

-->Student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom consisting of 29 kids -->Student teaching in a Title One classroom -->Assisting in a Pre-K special needs classroom -->Created lesson plans for students with reading disabilities based on the Learning Literacy Intervention (LLI) Program -->Aided teacher in the understanding of a newly implemented program (LLI) -->Observed and evaluated students' progress, modifying teaching procedures as needed to help individuals and group -->Created daily lesson plans for all subject areas (Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Penmanship, DOL, and Reading) -->Worked with another teacher through cooperative teaching to present the daily Reading lesson -->Work with special needs students including reading to them and working with basic skills (colors, letters, numbers, etc) -->Work with Title One teachers, helping them organize the new LLI program and preparing lesson plans, student worksheets, and work for substitute teachers as needed -->Why do I want to tutor?
